Track select question

Is there a way to UN-synconize selecting a track in PRV and shifting selection in the Track View. I often edit audio in the track view and edit in PRV concurrently - when ever selecting a new track focus in PRV the track view also selects and scrolls to that track in track view taking away focus for track view editing.
