Tracks disappeared from console view
Hey Guys, I'm not sure if I have encountered my first major Sonar glitch or not but today I opened up a project I have been working on for a while in X2a and all the channel strips apart from the master are missing from the console view. I can see them all in the track view and everything plays but the console view is empty apart from one lonely master channel. Am I missing something like a complete idiot or is there a more sinister explanation? Your superior knowledge is much appreciated.

Go under the Console's Track menu and select Track Manager. It's buggy, but this may be the fix. You may also check to see that they aren't pushed off the screen by some odd Skylight thing going on. Sometimes they can hide when all you need to do is grab the edge of the console view where they ought to be and drag it into view. I'll bet the Track Manager may be the issue, though.

Thanks for the reply brconflict. After opening and closing several projects and then the "problem project" the problem seems to have rectified itself so I'm not sure if the tracks had become hidden via the track manager or not but I'll make that my first check if it re-occurs. I knew everything was running too smoothly to last........

I hear ya. With no news of X2b or even X3, after this Project I'm working on is done, I'm shopping again. I want some serious bugs/flaws fixed in X2b (if that's the next thing), and I want Cakewalk to take their time fixing them, but no news is not always good news in this field.

I haven't had any issues with the track manager myself. but I have hit the keyboard shortcut by accident and hidden tracks in console before. hopefully the op will answer back on this one, cant say ive heard this before (tracks disappearing in console view.) maybe someone else can chime in as well ?

That is a good point,as to whether they may have been functionally hidden. It is a feature of Sonar, not that I've been brave enough to use it. heh

I don't think I used the keyboard shortcut by mistake (assuming you mean the control+T command?) as this hides tracks in all views but all my tracks were visible in the track view. The problem was limited to what I could see in the console view.

Under "strips" in console view there is a check box to show or hide channel strips. I can't imagine how you could do this by accident though. I use this function for screensets I have a CV screenset that shows channels only and another one that shows busses only.
