Seems like me and others at KVR can't stand the color scheme. You can't change it either. Must be the same people who did Windows 10.
Pass on this version. It's very hard on the eyes. No help manual included.The DAW is not that much of a bargain when you have to fork out money for a help file.

I like the look. Being able to change themes was cool too, and I bet they add that back in at some point.
It could use a manual. It's been pretty easy to figure out as it's all right there in front of you, but still some kind of manual is always a good idea.
I've spent a total of $39.25 for Tracktion 4,5,6 and 7. I think that's a pretty good deal if I use it.
(Windows 10 does suck.)

Yeh, they;'re getting a lot of flack on their forum regarding the colors. Apparently, track color customization went away when they implemented color gradients (cute, but probably should be optional). Other than that, the new UI has a lot of convenience enhancements: If you think the new UI has room for improvement, just check out their new re-vamped website. It's a case-study in how to make a site slow, confusing and hard to navigate.

I like it, but I'm used to the dark look. Sonar is dark, Harrison Mixbus is dark, and blue is my favorite color!
Most importantly it works. It's not bloated with a bunch of BS and seems to be very stable here.

I loaded up T4 to see what it's about. Not bad really. I find the latency with sims a bit too much, but overall not bad. Especially for a free DAW. I still think Reaper for $60 is a better value.

Updating this thread with a warning... Tracktion doesn't work with Toontrack products very well. Both my EZDrummer and EZKeys eventually fail to work within the shell. Meaning that the mouse will eventually fail to trigger a preview sound from within the Toontrack shell, and I have to reset the audio engine often. I sent a message to Tracktion support , they said they're not very familiar with EZD2, and said I should try the windows drivers instead of ASIO. No thanks. It's hard to believe that daw makers are not familiar with Toontrack. I have issues with Mixbus 3.1 and Toontrack too. It's nice to try some of these other daws. I like to switch environments from time to time for fun, but it sure makes me appreciate Sonar. Sonar works.

Color scheme is awkward. Maybe Toontrack stuff says "we're outta here" with this horrible color scheme.

With only very limited use, EZD2 appears to be working fine with T4 here. Overall latency is a bit too much for me though.

Mine will work fine for a while...then it starts acting as described above. I did notice a new beta for T7 is now available. Maybe that has fixed a few things. Overall I like it. It in no way compares with Sonar, but I like it.

My experience is they jump on bugs with Cockos-like speed. I don't have T7 yet but should have it in hand in a couple days. I think my co-conspirator dmbaer scored the real prize, their new morphing, sample-based synth biotek. That one's pretty cool (the audio demos don't do it justice). I think it may have appeal to the now-jilted fans of Alchemy.
