You can get basic for $50 which includes Waveform and, Collective. but for $99 you get the plugin package too. Everybody needs more plugins!
I'll upgrade to basic probably. Giving it some time to see if it works first.

Basic does have Mastermix though. I had to look that up to believe it.
I certainly don't need Mastermix, but it was a $60 plugin a week ago.
I also don't need the plugin package, but they look very good for another $49.

Traction Waveform looks very good . It looks like they added a ton of useful editing features .. I wish I could find some info on Collective , haven't seen anything yet on u tube .. That is pretty Jazzy that you can create your own chord progressions  BIAB space Ship Style  Man I can swing the 50 bucks right now but I'm sitting on it .. I'm thinking the best deal is getting the deal with Bio Tek ..I have yet to see that one for less than a hundred .... I'm currently downloading the demo for that synth ...I hope I like it and more importantly use it  This company comes up with some very individual cool stuff .... Man why does this have to come out at the same time as a Mixbus right around the corner .release ... It's like having to decide which date goes to the prom while I eat peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for weeks to be able to afford the prom tickets .. have a good one , Kenny

Indeed, it's a big update at more than 3 GB, including that Collective sampler (and rompler) as well as Master Mix and the FM Synth. You can already download the demo here and activate later. Select the bundle with all samples or only Waveform itself (20 MB). I just got it and picked up the basic ...so far it is real nice Love the new midi stuff ... I may have made a mistake ...downloaded the small download and installed that one .. Now I'm downloading the big install to see what the collective is all about ... Kenny

Of all my DAWs Tracktion is the clumsiest for me. Look up some wav files and they have this option to remove files from a project you didn't save and the options are to remove them from the DAW or the system. Oddest option ever if you are not careful.
It's not really inspiring at all. Reaper blows it away for the same price. Of course Reason blows away most DAWs. A budget DAW I really like is Mixcraft. Of course with lifetime updates with Sonar and FL, those would be the real budget DAWs.
There's a lot of things I don't like about Tracktion. I will probably buy this. I may wait for a sale under $50. I can think of a lot of DAW "no I don't need this" for $50.

What is the price for Basic if you own no previous products? When I go to their website, it says that the $50 price is an upgrade for those who own any previous versions since T5.

I'm afraid so.
It's $50 if you paid for T5, T6 or T7.
You can get T5 for free though, but I guess that won't let you upgrade.

I've been running the Waveform demo for a few days, and the new MIDI composition tools are cool. They would sure be handy to have. The Basic edition is only $99 for first timers. But not sold yet on the idea of buying another entire DAW.

After playing with the Waveform demo for a few days, I went ahead and grabbed it. The Pattern Generator alone is worth the price of admission! And that new Collective synthy thing is interesting ... especially with the "tuned to a fifth" Minimoog lead sound used for the Genesis song "Abacab".
