Transferring Plug in to New computers

What's the situation with transferring plug ins to a new pc. I am running an OK Laptop, but holding out for an i7
64 bit upgrade at some point in the next few months. Can I just migrate any separately purchased Plug ins, or do I have to deauthorise for some companies and re-authorise, or do some companies not permit. The only plug ins I use that were not supplied with Cakewalk or as part of a Cakewalk purchase, is the original Applied Acoustics Systems stuff. They seem very relaxed with me adding to another computer from what I can tell.

Also, if I download a 32 bit option for this laptop, but then when I upgrade, is there any issue in then using a 64 bit plug in?

Each company may have a different approach for reauthorizing plugs. So, you really need to check them out.

Yes with AAS you can have up to 3 authorization within a period of time - and once the period is over, you can authorize it again.

It's best to match 64 bits Sonar with 64 bits vsts. Sonar 64 bits can run 32 bits vsts via bitbridge automatically, but I only run them if it's there is no 64 bits version and I've tested them with no issue.

Thank you. That explains AAS too, I had them on a number of PC's but over a long time.

I've been waiting for AAS to update their string synth. It's not good enough, and they had made a number of developments with sympathetic resonance.

Looking through my emails, they tend to have a sale on every Thanks giving and late June. So good to know their 32 bit versions will live happily in Sonar with the bridge.

    Thanks again.

All of the AAS plug-ins have 64bit versions which are free for the current version of their plug-ins.

I have the original Bundle, so the only current ones I have are the session ones that came with Sonar. I can't access AAS to check at the moment (These Communists know not to trust Liberal Canadians), but I assume The older versions of Lounge Lizard and Ultra Analog are still 32 bit only, where as there is only the original of Tassman and String, so these must have been dealt with.

Tassman 4.1 and String Studio VS-1 are 64bit. I would guess the original Ultra Analog might be, the 64bit versions were released well before Ultra Analog VA-2 was released.

Cool thanks. Though part of me was hoping that I needed to upgrade to the latest bundle, next time the upgrade is half price, so I could justify getting chromophone. I never use Tassmann or String, though an update to string would also ease my conscience too.
