Translating Envelopes???

Hey, everyone. I'm working alot with envelopes lately in MC3, and have found that there is no obvious function on being able to shift envelopes with thier MIDI tracks. anyone know what I can do about that?

Explain what you mean. Are you trying to copy an envelope from one track to another?

Do you understand that MC3 is really old now and very few people here use it? I don't even have that version. Maybe someone has it and can help..... but you really need to explain it a bit better.

Well, I want to just move a single MIDI clip on its track along with the envelope on the audio track.

But thing is, my dad bought this program a couple years ago because my mom needed a cheap MIDI cable, and I convinced him to get it ecause we'd get a whole DAW with it. Crapfully, MC3 may be officialy past its prime.

To do that... you will need to select both tracks and clip them and move them together.

Another way is to clip them both at the same time in the same place.... select both tracks and cut where you need.  then copy them one by one...lining up the starting points of the two clips. In the audio clip, when you select COPY.... be sure to check any boxes that refer to the envelopes and FX in the clip.

And yes..... for the cost, I would upgrade to MC6. The synths and sounds you get are, by themselves, worth the upgrade cost.

Ah, figured it out. Thanks, GH, but I solved my problem by selecting (obivously enough) the envelope tool and just dragging the evnelope to live up with the MIDI notation clip. Not sure if that's exactly what you were saying, but that's that.

Oh, btw, MC3 is what I have right now, and I unfortuanetly and too low on cash to upgrade even to the latest for its super-low price, so hopefully you can brear with me a couple months longer on mc3 untill I move up to 6.

Staples sells MC6 in the box for $39.99 .. I had store credit from taking back printer cartridges and got it for much less.

After registering the product I was pleased to receive the freebee that was advertised with it online :). I have been unemployed since 2004 so even $30 was a real strain on our budget. I understand how that is. ... Baydon
