Transposing audio

Didn't want to hijack the previous post on this subject, but......

Does the transpose audio feature work well? Never used it. I've got a song which I cannot sing very well in the key it was recorded in. Can I use the transpose audio feature to change the key of all the tracks w/o losing any quality or sounding "computerized" so to speak?

Thanks.

~Jeff

    Transpose midi works perfectly
Transpose audio ok if 1 or 2 half steps...also depending on you purpose
Not for a master in my opinion if it's the full master track
Maybe a guitar part by itself...

+1, you would really need to try how it affects what you are doing. If doing "all" tracks, I have done this to master mixdowns (only one wav file) and found Audacity (free) to be a viable alternative (especially if not doing strict semitone transposition). I actually tested Audacity for a song tuned down by 40cents and it did surprisingly well.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Another option is to transpose the mix, and if it sounds pretty good, then maybe add a few instruments that aren't transposed to enhance it

I am a hardcore Sonar user and supporter, but I have to admit MixCraft is much better when it comes to transposing keys.
