Triggering Tempo Changes During Playback with Footswitch

I want to use Sonar to play some drum patterns whilst practising Bass and what to increase the tempo but would prefer the flexibility of having the tempo increase once I'm sure I've got the lick under my fingers

So is there a way of increasing the tempo during playback by pressing a sustain pedal ??

Unless you buy a USB footswitch like my X keys which you can program to do any and all keystrokes. The X keys stores 3 assigned pedals and it works by recording all keystrokes. You set it to record and follow through typing the keys and it records that. So I would imagine if you set the Tempo as in focus and then programed the Xkeys to use the arrow keys.. just guessing. I use mine for control of Playback at my live gigs,, I've also used it to start stop Sonar  using the W the R and the Spacebar. Had it for 14 years. A switch wore out and they sent me 3 for free.
