Trillian and Electricity

Hey All,

I need a decent guitar and bass to supplement my orchestral library and was looking into buying Trillian and Electri6ity. Just wanted to know if anyone here uses those and wanted feedback before I drain my bank account.

Take Care and thanks for any feedback,

Andy

Check out Orange Tree Samples Evolution Electric Guitar: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=3

I don't have it as I play the guitar, but I checked out the demo sounds and it's quite impressive. I believe these are for Kontakt.

    Andy:
Of note, I chatted with a few guys over at the KVR forum who used Electricity and the biggest complaint seemed to be that a lot of time was needed in tweaking the software to get desired results......but, that just could issues with the few I was talking to. There should be some helpful threads in there that might help you make a decision (one way or the other).

    Good luck!!

+2 Evolution Electric Guitar and Evolution Acoustic Guitar are the most realistic, easiest to use guitar sample libraries on the market, bar none. Orange Tree Samples pushes the envelope for guitar and bass sample libraries. Listen to their demos and those of other guitar sample libraries and pay special attention to the non-distorted demos and transitions. A lot of developers cover up library shortcomings by drenching their demos  in distortion and the reality there is that even old soundfont guitar libraries, if smartly programmed, can sound decent with tons of distortion. I think workflow is another big deal with the more complex libraries. Evolution has a strumming engine to simulate guitar strums that is very well designed and I think that is pretty important. Even more, they use it on their acoustic library too, so once you get familiar with it on the electric, you will be familiar with how to use the acoustic guitar -- that's pretty nice, imo. (I advocated for this as a customer as well as a number of other features.) Check out their Cherry bass -- it's excellent for pop and rock productions. Iconic Bass: Jaco is also superb, but I find Cherry's tone fits a wider range of the the music I do -- but Jaco is a killer bass library. Just incredible, really.

[FTR, I'm a customer of Orange Tree Samples and also give them marketing advice -- as I've done for many other sample developers, including other guitar sample library devs -- whose products I use. I'd compare, but I'm friends with some of the other devs and every time I've done that, inevitably, at least one dev will get upset, so I'll let other people compare specific libraries.]

Ditto. Electri6ity is good but Evolution is more versatile. Costs less, too.
