Trouble importing video into Sonar x2 64bit
Hi, went to 64bit with X2, and find that I can't import video or corrosponding audio. I read somewhere that this is related to codecs. Searched the internet for andwers, but have come up with nothing.. Anyone who knows what to do, please let me know. What type of video file are you trying to import? Sonar can import MPG, WMV, AVI and MOV without adding any codecs.

Hi Dave, The files were sent as MPEG-4 and also as Quicktime. After I couldn't import, I tried an older Quicktime video file that I had imported into Sonar X1, same issue.. Rob

As far as I know, there's still no Apple Quicktime 64-bit for Windows, and since CW relies on Quicktime to do the actual import/export, Sonar64 can't import the files. I think you can only import the files into Sonar32 (which you can install on Windows 64-bit).

StepD, Thanks for the information. My knowlege of video is very limited. Can I convert these videos into a format that can go into Sonar X2 64bit? Rob

Yeah, convert to AVI or MPEG1 and you'll be fine.

MP4 is not supported. Its seems there are multiple flavors of MOV so that may not be a good choice.

Install the Shark007 codecs for your windows version. Be sure to install the 64 bit addon if you are running a windows 64 bit version. He has Vista Win 7 and Win 8 versions. http://shark007.net/index.html

"MOV's work fine on my Sonar."
The files you're importing probably weren't encoded to one of the native Quicktime formats.
