Trouble when exporting audio file - lots of hiss.

I am fairly new to sonar, I have 3.0. Anyway, I have a sound I like in the recording mode, but when I take it out of recording mode there is A LOT of hiss that wasn't there before I took it out of recording mode. Even when I keep it in recording mode and try exporting, the new wav file has the hiss. I have been able to export a few files that were what I heard in the recording mode, but the majority of my exports have a loud hiss that is not there in the original file. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

I have a very similar sounding problem except my hiss has a spacey tone to it if you can imagine that.

I'll post back here if I find any solutions

Hiss is most often due to your gain to high and your level too low. If you are using 16 bits as your bit depth then it will also be a factor. Hiss comes from analog pre amps. That is if you are recording directly into your sound card and not getting a hot enough signal you will have to raise the gain to compensate. This will increase the hiss.
