TruePianosX64 Output Level

TruePianos Output level jumps to -4 when I press Play, how do I prevent it?

Thanks - rev

What is probably happening is there is hidden Volume ( CC7) and it's triggering at the start of the track.
Is this your own midi track or a download?
    Download often behave this way.
You can check the events list first
Sometimes slip editing the track to the first note played works as these events are often at the begining in the first measure.

SOmetimes I just can't stop this from happening and will open the track in Cubase and the CC7 or PG will show in Cubase. Or a free dowload midi sequencer of which there are plenty.

    Cactus:

Thanks but there's no CC7 in the data, this is my own file not a download.

Putting a CC7 in the data is a workaround. If you ever need to do the same, you can control the Master with a CC7 with a value of 90, that results in a level of -6. The fader will jump to the annoying place as soon as you press Play but it will flip back down to -6 as soon as the CC7 is encountered.

You can place it at the same point in time by duping the first piano note because controllers are read by the system a nano-squillisecond earlier, even though the two events appear to occur at the same time.

If you Stop the file after your CC7 and then press Play, TruePianos might not obey the earlier CC so I place one every 8 bars (or whatever makes sense).

I don't remember it ever misbehaving before and we shouldn't have to do all that. What's the purpose of the slider if we have to use a CC7 to work it?

No, that was a different issue. Output, which was assigned to the mod wheel, kept returning to zero on Stop. Scook had the right answer there but it isn't the answer for the TruePianos issue.

Another common one is where volume leaps to a set point in a Kontakt instrument, no matter where you put the fader. You can fix that by going to the wrench symbol, then Instrument Options and unchecking 'Accept standard controllers for Volume and Pan' found under the Controllers menu.
