Tuba?

Hey!

I am looking for a nice Solo Tuba. I have EWQLSO but looking for something a tad more intimate and preferably not from an orchestra library. I'm working on a project in desperate need for a good tuba but I will try to not use my regular tuba player (human) for this.

So any good suggestions?

don't know if it'll work for your application, but I get a big kick out of Front Porch Tuba:

This one sounds pretty good to me: Sample Modeling French Horn and Tuba, although the demo songs don't feature a lot of solo tuba. It runs in the Kontakt player, so of course it's a bit pricey - $200.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Now that's two cool alternatives - thanks Bit and Wst3

But the frontporch tuba is absolutely perfect! And 50 bucks is a great price so I'm grabbing that one right away.

    Thanks for your help

marius - how often are you going to use that tuba?  if you're going to use it more than once then the price is right at $50, but if you're going to use it one time and never again...I'd consider hiring a tuba player from your local orchestra.  you can probably get him for $50 to $100.

I do a whole lot of tuba stuff actually - believe it or not and I usually use a real human tuba player. I have usually done about 8 jobs with him every year since 2008. This time I need the tube to not only sound awesome but also play slightly outside of human capabillities. I've used my tuba player for this kind of style before and through a whole lot of editing I have managed to make it sound the way I want.

This time I won't use him so I need to figure it out myself and this is the way.

So to me, this tuba patch is great! I'd buy this thing for $150 - but don't tell them that And I will continue to use my tubaplayer when I can.

FrontPorch Tuba is a lot of fun. It was originally released for GigaStudio, and I am thrilled that it has been ported to Kontakt - can't wait to see what else he has up his sleeve!

I gotta say that this is the first time I've ever seen the phrase "a tad more intimate" describing a tuba!
