TubeOhm has released 106-Emulation, a new Roland Juno 106 emulation for Windows as a VST instrument plug-in.

    There you go again...Like I need another synth. Haven't bought anything for months. Had almost reformed myself.
    Still holding out, but this thing is really nice. My wife is going to kill me.

    Had sworn off buying anything again, but this synth is killer. Don't really know how well it stacks up against my hardware Juno 106, because haven't turned it on in decades, but doesn't matter much.
     
    The audio frequency response is very rich with a clean low end.. Slight tweeks in the expansion rack make for some excellent individual sounds.
    Was hoping more strings, but the full version has a bunch more presets. Price is probably a bit over $55.
     
    I found my tent and patched it against the rain. Got enough plastic bags, flares, canned beans and bottled water to survive the week outside once my wife finds out.
    Somebody talk me out of this. Otherwise, check out the demo.

    Maybe my last post as I get ready to live outside in the wild. Might get attacked and eaten by a pack of raccoons. Can't predict the weather on the Pacific rim. I may or may not survive.
     
    Laptop charged and connected to wifi if I can keep the rain off. Waiting for the license and link to come. Price was a bit under $52 with exchange rate.
     
    Merciful Buddha... Wife is in another room and heard a "Huh?..." She is checking the email and has without a doubt seen the PayPal notification that I just blew a week's worth of groceries on my hoarding sickness.
     
    Would not trade that little beauty for anything, but got to run for cover. Will check back in later if I am still alive.

    I have just got this actually after reading John's post. I used to have a large collection of real analog synths and I have slowly been replacing them one by one with software and this is one of the last ones for me.
     
    This does sound very good and is very Juno 106 sounding for sure.  It is only 32 bit though so be warned.  I use multiple computers in my studio so I have installed this one on my 32 bit machine.  I am also on Studio One and sometimes Studio One just does not like any form of bridge so right now I am avoiding it until perhaps and hopefully a 64 bit version comes out.  I have asked them if that is likely to happen.  It is a little CPU hungry on my 32 bit machine but still sounds excellent though.
     
    The extender panel is also very cool.  I am all for classic modes and sounds too but I am also very much into the concept of original machines like this being extended well beyond their original capacity and this certainly does that.
     
    Also if you are on Studio One there is a free set of sounds created by Ari Ahrendt which sound killer too. These are a Studio One soundset. But the Ari patches can also be loaded in normally as well.

    Thanks Jeff for the confirmation of what I'm hearing. Exquisite synth covering the tonal spectrum and a few sliders away from creating great sounds. 32 bit, but should be able to bridge. Full and powerful presentation up there with the best.
     
    Before I blew up the credit card, went through some of my Juno emulators for a reality check. They sounded like a telephone speaker in comparison.
     
    Small and receding subset of user still alive with the actual vintage hardware Juno 106, meaning probably no one here but me...  Can use the vsti to program the hardware presets. For what that is worth.
     
    They really done a good job on this one. $52 in the hole, but well worth the purchase.

    do I need it as well as "TAL-U-NO-LX" ?
     
    standard issue in studios I went to in the 90's , an akai 950 (or better) .. a juno 106 and a jd800 (and sometimes a m1).. oh and a mackie desk a lot of the time

    I think TAL-U-NO-LX is more or less modeled on either the original Juno 6 or Juno 60. It is not a bad plugin either but this is way better and quite far removed from that. Plus it is geared much more toward the Juno 106 sound which is actually also quite different to the first early Junos.
