Turn projects into mp3s?

Sorry dont know which forum to put this in, but how do you encode projects to mp3? ive never done it before, but from what i hear it sounds like i need to convert each track 1 by 1 then realign them in sonar again? Im running x1 but i have an old copy of sonar 7 that came with pyro, can i use that instead of downloading LAME?

Id say spend the $20 on Cakewalks Encoder.  Easy, Fast and No Problems!!!

    1. Export your entire project @ 24 bit 44.1KHz (or 16 bit if you want to burn a regular CD as well as an mp3)
    2. Download & install Goldwave & Lame (both free)
    3. Use Goldwave to create an mp3 from the 24 bit wav created in step 1

If you are saying that you already own a functional copy of Pyro, as far as I remember, Pyro already has a paid for encoder built into it, No?

In that case just import your finished track into Pyro and do the conversion from there.

It's a wise precaution to leave a little bit more headroom for mp3 than you would for CD.

    0.5db should be plenty.

-- how do you encode projects to mp3? Using Cakewalks Encoder, select all tracks File>Export Audio. then follow/enter what you want. I usually make sure ALL tracks are selected then export a Wave file to save as a Master copy.  For the Encoder (http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=10-CWMA1.00-10E)  It installs easy and seamlessly IMO and is part of Sonar once installed.  No bouncing around in other programs.
-- need to convert each track 1 by 1 then realign them in sonar again? No, just make sure either all or none of the tracks are selected when exporting. If only one is highlighted/selected, that will be all that is exported.

Man, I thought I was getting some new good news regarding GoldWave, but I checked the site after reading this and it's still $19 for a one year license and $49 for a lifetime license.

If you know somewhere where it's legitimately free, please let me know? :)
