Depending on your demands/expectations, I am aware that WavesFactory has one ( http://samples.wavesfactory.com/?p=259) for $9.95, Indignus ( http://indiginus.com/) has a simulated 12 string patch and I think Sonivox has one (but that's a rather old library) that is part of a guitar collection. I would expect the most detailed library is the 12 string in Vir2's Acoustic Legends ( http://vir2.com/instruments/acoustic-legends-hd) -- but you'd have to pay a high price tag because it includes a lot of other acoustic guitars and, imo, it sounds okay, but I think you could do better for the price when it comes to the six string acoustic guitar libraries. RealGuitar has a simulated 12 string; check out the demos and decide if you find that acceptable: http://www.musiclab.com . IMO, there is nothing presently on the market that is at the level of realism and usability of the recently released Evolution Acoustic Guitar discussed in another thread in this forum, however, that is a 6 string (I don't know if it can be adapted to sound like a 12 string like Indignus and MusicLab's RealGuitar have done). I'd suggest that you check out the developers I've mentioned and see if there is anything that appeals to you -- I haven't heard any 12 string acoustic libraries that really impress me yet. From what's on the market, for my ears, I'd pick Vir2 out of the ones I've mentioned -- but, of course, it's all in the ear of the beholder. [Edit: Fixed three links which were not working.]

All the links are getting a 404 error except the vir2 one. Trying to tell me something edrummist I listen to the samples and of the two the second one sound pretty close to what I think a 12 string sounds like. I'll try the other links again.

@sgotr I fixed the links in my post prior to this one. Good luck on your journey! (I've been using sampled guitar libraries since the 80s and know about probably every decent KONTAKT guitar library and VST currently on the market and own more than half of them; I've also given many of these developers product and marketing recommendations; I'm a marketing professional for a living and I've been known to help out small devs, especially if it helps a great product come to market!)

Indiginus Acoustic Guitar collection is worth checking out, as edrummist says the 12 string may be simulated but the whole package sounds very nice and the strumming using the Strummaker or Strummaker live is very easy to acheive. The link works for me but here is a link straight to the page http://indiginus.com/agc.html . It going to be eclipsed by Orange Tree's latest offering but its still a very nice and inexpensive package. The manual says. The Guitars A Guild JF30 ("Nashville"), a 1955 Martin D-28 ("Blue Ridge"), a Taylor 410 ("California"), and a Sivlertone ("Nylon Guitar") were sampled to create these instruments. With the exception of the NylonGuitar, each guitar has fingerpicked, picked, and 12-string versions

The kool thing about Kontakt 4 is that so many third party vendors are making samples for it. Indiginius has this> The acoustic guitar collection with Strummer 3. Its $40. Very useful for non guitarists.

no, I don't know about the equipment they used, but the owner is a really nice guy to work with and he will usually email you within a few hours if you have a question. he'll probably be glad to talk about it.
