Twist and shout first take
Maybe I've heard/read about this before, and then forgotten, (and it's not "news" anyway) but anyways...
In a Beatles documentary I just watched the recording engineer told that when the Beatles were recording their first album (1 day studio time!) "Twist and shout" was recorded in a single take at end of a day long session. At that time Johns voice was really tired, and the engineer thought that one take was all he could bear.
That adds extra glow to that brilliant performance.
Surely there are many one take classics in the world, but this does give a picture of how iron hard routine the guys had developed in Hamburg. We must remember that at that time they were not very experienced with studio work yet.
