Two New Music Videos: "Catch Me, I'm Dreaming" and "Replay, Replay"
Both done in Sonar X3e, of course : "Catch Me, I'm Dreaming" and the theme from "Replay, Replay." Of course comments are welcome, but I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have regarding the production techniques or how particular sounds were obtained. This was all done in the box, with two exceptions: the vocals, and the acoustic guitar in "Replay, Replay." FWIW, I believe this is the first recording to use an Epiphone PRO-1 acoustic guitar. I hope you like these songs, there are a bunch of other ones on my YouTube channel. I hope to revamp the channel at some point with an introduction video, some more artwork, revised playlists, etc. But there's this little software company up in Boston that keeps me kind of busy...

Welcome to the songs forum Mr. Anderton always nice to see a new face and hear new music down here in the sub, sub, sub basement of Cakewalk towers. Couple of nice tunes that seem well executed and produced You might find you get some more input if you stuck those talented ears on a few of our efforts Thanks for sharing.

Wookiee You might find you get some more input if you stuck those talented ears on a few of our efforts I actually have listened to quite a few of the songs here, but never made any comments because I hadn't posted anything. It didn't seem right to comment without exposing myself first I'll probably continue to spend more time lurking than participating, but it is fun to visit on occasion and just go through the songs to find out how people are using SONAR, and sometimes I do want to comment and now I feel I can do so. There's a procedure I follow on my Sound, Studio, and Stage forum where I post a mix on YouTube but with an unlisted URL. I put that in the forum, and ask for comments from what I call the "Sound, Studio, and Stage Production Squad." There are people with really great ears and they make excellent suggestions. I then take those into account, do a final version, and post it a week or so later. I find their feedback incredibly helpful. It might be interesting to try that "two-step" approach here. The main reason I posted my songs was so that if any one had questions about what mixing or mastering techniques/instruments/etc. were used, I could maybe give some ideas people would find useful. Or not Somebody already asked an audio-for-video question based on the songs in the SONAR forum.

I really like your songwriting, Craig. These two songs give me a flavor that I often look for. You set the bar high when it comes to production and performance, and you demonstrate the art of the possibility. The videos are well conceived, too. Did you use Vegas? All in all, this inspires me.

First, thanks for the props, much appreciated. Second, yes, the videos are done with Vegas. The hardest part is finding public domain images...I did a cover version of " We Gotta Get Out of this Place" and the video consisted entirely of showing details of what was happening on-screen with SONAR. No legal issues there!

Wow... really, really good depth in these mixes. They sound clean, punchy, wide. Good songwriting and solid arrangements too! I was listening more than watching so can't comment on the videos... But I have to ask... how did you record the electric guitars? Songwriting-wise I liked Reply a little better, but Catch Me in particular had a lot of nice guitar parts that sounded great.
