Two New Tracks ! Film score / Latest Quirky Mix
Hi ! Just finished a couple of new ones and thought would post to try and get some feedback. Film score is quite dark and mysterious, whilst Latest Quirky Mix is a bit off its head ! Please follow the link :) Kev

Latest Quirky mix: apart from the very obvious FX panning it sound very mono but well captured. Film Score: Sounds very much like a film score I am detecting a little bass boom here, but that could just be my control room and perhaps the percussion/drums are a little to upfront, other than that again well captured. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent work. I love the quirky mix. You really have incorporated some creative sounds in making this number a bunch of fun! Sound Track sounds exactly like one! It moves from a feeling of forbiddance and builds to more action sounds. The end is rather sudden but definitely would end as a climax to a scene.

Yes I placed a lot of instruments in mono on the first track. I think the mix might be improved a little if the guitar was in stereo panned hard left and right. I might try that ! For the second track, I can't hear a bass boom on my speakers, I think its OK. As for the drums being too loud is was sort of intentional to balance the dark mood of the melodic parts. I felt it was getting to dark so I tried to give the track more omph using drums and percussion. Thks for listening !

Kev, I liked the Latest Quirky Mix, it could have been in Who Framed Roger Rabbit or some such cartoonish environment with all the sound effects and whimsical feel. Very cool. The Film score is good too, although, I think the clave is a little loud. Sounds like a dark Rhumba;) Both very creative and unique. Liked them both.
Regards

Re: Film Score Those string sounds at the beginning, they stop quite abruptly with a very short release, I think a longer release so they blend insto each other more naturally would sound better. I liked the percussion, but I don't think it complements well with the other elements, sounds almost like 2 seperate tracks playing together: one dark, one not. Perhaps some percussive highlights to complement the dark mood would have worked better.

Well spotted for the strings at the beginning. They wud defo be better with a longer release. Not totally sure where u r coming from about the percussion. You mean the whole drums or a specific instrument ? The intention of the drums was to contrast with the music rather than complement it. Thks for listening !
