Two Windows 10 Start Menu Screenshots

Here are two screenshots of the Windows 10 start menu.  One is LEFT click on Start icon and the other is RIGHT click on Start icon (Note Sonar and CCC in task bar).

    Good, not much changed from the context menu. I access a lot of stuff with that. I love the look of the new start menu. :)

    How much is the newly-restored start menu like Pre-Win8? Is it still directory-based, so you can create as many subfolders as you want? Or is it just an alternate view of the Mattel interface? Do newly-installed programs automagically appear on the start menu so you can pull up their properties and find out where the heck they went to? 
     
    That's one of my biggest frustrations with Win 8. I like to organize shortcuts in desktop folders, but if an app's installer doesn't offer a choice of destination you have to go hunt it down in order to create a shortcut for it. Pre-Win8 I'd just right-drag it from the start menu.


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    It doesn't look directory based. It will list the executables available on an installed program such as Nvidia will list all the Nvidia programs it installs in a single folder but nothing else such as text files like 7 or previous.
     
    Newly installed programs will show up in a "New Install" group in the start menu so you can make them a tile. If you choose not to, it will eventually just go to the All Apps list.
