Two things I would love to do.
a) Be able to have more than one console view on a screenset (like I can have with piano roll). I can of course workarond this with multiple screensets. b) Be able to QUICKLY duplicate ALL or MOST tracks to seperate new buses. Send Assistant helps but I'd like to do it all at once, rather than having to use send assistant for each track one by one. Or is there a way? Cheers Alex

b) Be able to QUICKLY duplicate ALL or MOST tracks to seperate new buses. Am reading this right? You want to select a bunch of tracks and add a send on each to a separate bus (and have the buses created at the same time, I presume)? If that's right, what's the ultimate goal?

Yup you are reading right :). b) Ultimate goal - To be able to set up unique mixes such as headphone mixes FAST for each band member. Allow each band member a unique mix... their own mixing desk if you like. Cheers Brundlefly....

Ultimate goal - To be able to set up unique mixes such as headphone mixes FAST for each band member. But then the sends can all go the same headphone bus, and you control the mix with the send volumes, no? Selecting multiple tracks and adding a send all to the same bus at once can be done.

Indeeed, I think that's the way I was doing it before. I was using the send pots from multiple tracks which pointed to one stero bus which then pushed out the full output. But I've since discovered there's nothing quite like having your own faders rather than pots for a seperate mix. Pots can fiddly esp when you've got multiple mixes on the go - confusing.... you have to be locating the right send knob all the time. Far better to have a screenset for each mix, and real faders/channels (if you've got enough PC resources).... It would be quite nice to find the fastest way of setting this up these seperate mixes.... Maybe a CAL script? (nb Is related to this post: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2398308)

Hey Alex, Noob question I'm wondering what part, (if any at all) of what you're wanting to do, could be accomplished through your Saffire mix control? Or is that(independent mixes sent to individual artists to suit their particular needs) feature only used for input monitoring during the initial recording process? Dave

Hi Dave As a vocal overdubbing example: Basically I send an entirely different Sonar X1 mix (via stereo bus) to the Saffire MixControl via DAW 3&4. The mix contains everything the vocalist needs to hear (inc vocal reverb) except their dry vocal. DAW3&4 is applied to a new mix tab in MixControl. Then I add the main (dry) vocal to this mix (a new track in MixControl next to DAW 3&4) so they can hear their own voice without latency.... and finally this mix gets routed to their headphones. NB If I was recording a band instead I would make sure they could all hear themselves through Saffire Mix Control and NOT via Sonar X1 (for zero latency) when playing. The only audio they would hear from Sonar is what's been recorded already + any live effects they might need to boost their performance vibe (+ metronome if required). Cheers Alex
