UA-1G Drivers

I cannot get the driver to install.  I keep getting the message that I need to uninstall and try again.  I uninstall, reboot and get the same message again.

I am trying to install the vista 64 drivers downloaded from cakewalk.

Anyone else have this issue?  Is there a way to see in the device manager what I need to remove to help install the new drivers?

Thanks

You should be able to find the UA-1G in the Sound, video and game controllers section of the device manager if it's installed. It should also show up as with its own icon in the Control Panel if it's installed.

Installation, generally, is a pretty simple process. Uninstall the device from the Sound, video and game controllers section of the device manager (right click UA-1G and select uninstall) and unplug the UA-1G if it is plugged in. Reboot. Install the drivers from the file you downloaded. Do not plug in the device until prompted to do so by the installation program.

Installing prior to attaching the device.  I never have gotten to the point where it asks to attach the unit

I definately do not see the drivers in the device manager or the control panel.

I have contacted tech support and will wait for their help but just wanted to see if anyone had this issue.

I do have a MOTU Traveler that is firewire and that works fine.  I want the 1G for more portability as this is attaching to a laptop.  Maybe a conflict with the MOTU drivers?  Doesnt seem likely as it is not USB.

    Thanks for any help!

Maybe try to install it with the other audio device disconnected? If I recall correctly the manual suggests unplugging all other devices before installation. I've never had that problem so I'm out of ideas.

It is not showing in the control panel.  It truely looks like it is not installed.

    The fix is:

    1) uninstall driver

    2) attached ua-1g with advanced driver on

    3) Select select driver some other time when it cannot find the driver

    4) Go to device manager and right click on the ua-1g (shows with a alert symbol in driver panel)

    5)  Pick update driver

    6) Navigate to the folder where the driver is and pick okay

This error message is due to the drivers that are already there in the pc. You need to uninstall them and again install it. It will work surely.
