UA-1G Sampling Rates..... What gives..?!
Ola
I bought the UA-1G to work on mixes we've done in the studio, on the go. It's mostly for vocal comp'ing etc - not really recording as such, just listening back to what we have and arranging by slip editing etc.
Our studio stuff is always recorded at 24/88.2 (twice CD sampling rate..... old habit) and the spec of the UA-1G says it supports up to 96khz.
However, the sampling rate has to be locked to 96khz, so Sonar won't play the project which is recorded at a LOWER sample rate??
Two questions....... Is there any way at all in the UA-1G settings to get it to support 88.2khz? And if not, why on earth did Cakewalk not support such a POPULAR sampling rate? I mean, every studio I've worked in has always used 88.2khz - cos there's next to no difference going up to 96khz and dithering back down to 44.1khz is easier/neater/better if you've done it by half (from 88.2khz...)
Am I missing something? Could I somehow re-sample up to 96khz to work on it away from my studio, temporarily?
Thanks in advance
Ryan
