UAD-2 and vanishing screens

Using 5.8 UAD-2 software on a Quad, my computer screen could not refresh after 3 instances of Struder and 3 of LA3A on three tracks. Sonar 8.5.3 on 8 GB i7,

Anyone else experience that?

My video card is a fanless ATI 4350..

Does UAD-2 5.8 off load to a GPU or use GPU memory?

    UAD sent me an support reply and suggested I upgrade my BIOS, uninstall their products (software. hardware) then reinstall the whole thing again. That's called the parking lot shuffle - your car is moved from one side of the lot to the other but the problem isn't fixed.

    I did that and the problem persists. There is a check box in settings on UAD-2 5.8 plugins that says "force GUI" which is what you have to do.

    Sometimes the whole plugin goes blank so I guess where the settings button is.

    This is not like 98 tracks with 4 plug-ins each. 3 tracks of audio, all bounced down with 1 VST plug in each. Sonar 8.5.3.

    Sorry to say (but confirming that your mileage is different), but I have 8.5.3 and a UAD2 Duo. I have a project template for drums that has 4 Studer, 10 88RS, a Studer and PBC on the drum bus, a 1176 LN on the parallel bus, and a PMax on the master to drive cans loud while running Kontakt and Zildjian Digital Vault. I run @ 32ms on a Core2Quad at about 38% on the cpu. 

    I am not really sure where your issue may lie, as I'm not rsuper saavy in troubleshooting. Best of luck to you - Shep

    Sounds impressive and not my experience. Let's hope there is something I can fix or tweak.

    It's not that the plug-ins don't work. Today on 3 tracks of audio, I loaded 5 plugins each including 3 Struder, 3 88RS, 3 LA2a, @ Reverb and one compressor chain. Then I copied the song and loaded it again under another name.

    They all work - the UAD one's have to be force refreshed when you bring them back - otherwise the plugin screen is just grey.
