Nice!  it made me want to kick something.

For my taste, i agree that the drums could be bigger.  But other than that it's great.

Oh boy, have I done some wild things to this more than a few times back in the good ol' 70s.

It's great, I thought the vocals could be a bit more up front but I loved it. I always thought Steve Jones was a better guitarist than he was ever credited with and you've done this track great justice. Fantastic, now if you can just do the rest of the album.....

Thanks Karl, and by the way I couldn't agree more about Steve Jones - very underrated indeed. Same for Paul Cook and Glen Matlock for that matter. Unlike Sid, who was argueably quite the opposite

Talking of Matlock, I was a big fan of Rich Kids, Ghosts Of Princes In Towers is one of my all-time favourite albums.

LOL, as to the rest of the album, we've already done God Save The Queen and Holidays In The Sun And there is a rumour going around that Pretty Vacant is being worked on as we speak

Nice work! I agree with the drums and lead need more volume or everything else needs less. Just turn it up to 11! lol!

Well done!

Hey, Steve,

All I can say is WOW!!!!  This cover is pure, solid, dynamite, and about 45 times better sounding than the original version!

I'm on my third listen now.  Killer guitar playing, thick, raw, powerful guitar tones, Troy's vocals are absolutely spectacular, and the mix is modern, punchy and totally pro sounding.

Hey, Steve, is this the songs forum debut of Ruby?  Your guitar on this sounds absolutely fantastic, brother.  And, I'm with the boys above, punch up those smokin' guitar solos a few dBs when you guys do the remix.  They definitely deserve to be spotlighted on this gem!

Outstanding job, boys, this is one awesome, totally Kick A$$ cover!  Spectacular work, have a rockin' weekend!
Bob

Great Job Steve,
You captured the balls of the song and did it well.   I agree with the above regarding beefing up the drum & bass lines, and the lead was a little low... but then again, punk rock has never been about perfection, it's more about the statement being made & the attitude coming across.
You have recreated that so, bloody **ck it!

lol. Feels good getting back to your roots, eh, Steve?
It's been a while since I heard a compressor pump like that, but it's an intrinsic part of the sound.

I don't have time to thank everyone individually, so let me just give a big group "THANK YOU!!" I always get nervous when Steve emails me. I know he's about to challenge me with a new song. Luckily for me he keeps doing Pistols songs. :) You don't have to be good to do those! Thanks again everyone! Sabbathack

Ok what's the scoop with the "Very Metal" band, does this mean the CHB has disbanded? Just wondering? I hope not, you dude's freaking rock either way, but I must ask because I don't think I am the only one who wants to know.

AWESOME FREAKING TUNE!!!!!!!!! AND PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!! But has the CHB decided to be no more?

Bobby

Hi Bobby

Troy and I started VeRy MeTal long before the CHB was formed. We just haven't had much chance to record anything for a while, hence the "return of" in the thread title.

And the CHB is alive and kicking, in fact there's another new tune in the works which should be finished real soon- watch this space

I listened to this the other day, but didn't have time for any comments. From memory, the things that needed tweaking were the drums and the lead guitar was a bit lost. Seems like you've put some good fixes in there and it alll sounds pretty much as it should to me, so I'd call that job done and job done well.
