CakeAlexS Said all I need to say but no doubt I'll be bouncing the thread every now and then until somebody from Cake finally takes notice. Why am I not surprised...? since you are in this Sonar X1/X2 forum posting off topic (cakewalk subscriptions), then thread-jacking the off topic thread (forum format & s/w), then to threaten antisocial behaviour by bumping said off topic thread in the wrong forum..(i think i captured that correctly) hopefully a moderator will send this thread to the appropriate place..... quite frankly I think if you actually did have real concerns you simply would not be here posting.

Think he's into toasting :) Thankyou for your contribution Mystic, pot kettle black (ps I suggest you read my posts carefully in future, may put to rest some of your statements). BTW I enjoyed reading your 2 other earlier posts in this (all of a sudden) self proclaimed illegal anti-social topic that you chose to partake in.

Alex - thanks by the way for making the suggestion to the Cakewalk folks on addressing some stuff with the forum. It certainly could use some sprucing up. I don't know what possessed me to construct a toaster analogy. Guess I'm getting hungry.... Bob Bone

:) Hoping cakewalk will respond to this finally. With a thread like this I'd be very surprised they didn't. And just to restate, I have tried to contact Cakewalk in the past about this. Nothing, nill, nada.

The only antisocial thing in this thread is the software! Right now I am forced to use an out of date browser to quote you. Further this is a long standing problem that you may be interested to know goes back to the very beginning of this forum on the net. This software is not the first software CW used for this forum. A few years ago it was changed to this which was an improvement in some ways but not in all. One big problem is searching that has not ever been solved. Because CW has not updated this forum software new browser don't work well with it. Even if you think they do not all the features are supported by other new browsers. You can't know this because they don't show up on browsers like Chrome or Opera. Even IE 9 doesn't work with this forum. Besides an OP can change the topic of a thread if the want to. But beyond that why are any of us opposed to the notion that a member is having a problems with this forum's software? If anyone is not bothered by it that is good for them but for many it is a standing issue that should be addressed by CW. I place great value on this forum. I want to see it work as well as it can. If CW will upgrade or update it it will be a good thing for all members. I can see no useful objection to that idea.

Hey, John. I recently installed Opera and it works fabulously with the forum. They also have AdBlockPlus for Opera and something called NotScript which is supposed to function like NoScript for FireFox however I guess they don't update it as much so I installed Ghostery instead which slows browsing down a little bit but not nearly as bad as it does with Firefox. Opera is lightning fast compared to FF so it's barely noticeable. So now I keep the Cake forums open in Opera and do everything else in FF. Hope you've been well.

CakeAlexS Glad you've calmed down Mystic ;). Among all the forums i participate in, Cakewalk is the leader by a large head and shoulders in user community quality & participation and also company participation... They are here to make Sonar a better product... and while i can accept the forum software could be better it does not impact me one bit as is... On a personal level I am simply not of the opinion that ranting gets results and is much more likely to deter an company participation and divert what may have been valid commentary into a discussion on delivery (and you can see i am not the only one in this thread who considered your approach "ill-advised").. Other than that i simply observed your actions were inappropriate relative to the generally high quality of issue resolution here.. in delivery, placement and in context... no offense was intended so if any was perceived then i apologise... but i sure didnt need to calm down ;)
