USB 3 with Octa Capture

Hey Guys,

I know that the Octa Capture has issues with USB 3, I'm wondering if this is across the board. Does it matter what controller you have, if it's mac or windows based? If anyone knows I'd really appreciate some input, thanks!

The Octa Capture is a USB 2 device. Some USB 3 ports seem fully backward compatible but it's hit and miss. No idea about usage with a Mac. I would just avoid USB 3.

As above. The only way to find out is to try it. Updating your BIOS and chipset drivers first is recommended.

Some situations are solved by disabling USB 3 in the bios. It's only needed if you have USB 3 storage devices if you don't want to wait a little longer to stream data.

Generally speaking, you'll have better luck with Intel USB3 controllers (integrated into newer motherboard chipsets).
FWIW, There's absolutely no performance advantage to connecting a USB2 device to a USB3 port.
