I don't dislike Jack White - actually I do like many songs of his. But I don't care for gimmicks, especially in this day and age where it's become so self-conscious and musicians too often completely miss the point by trying to recreate spontaneity. Whether you hide the tracks of provide a link to download them, whether you access the different versions of the song by placing the stylus or by selecting the digital audio file... The content is what matters, and packaging won't make it anymore relevant. It's funny to see them guys copying the sounds, copying the style, borrowing the technology - as if none of them realized that what made music so unique back then is that it was happening and not so caught up in the past... I can't imagine The Beatles releasing Sgt Pepper on a wax cylinder or Pink Floyd going back to gramophones for The Dark Side of the Moon...

Jack's a very interesting artist and represents some of the best ideals of music making IMHO. That said most of his stuff is a rehash of a sophomoric 60s and 70s pastiche.

Hi, I think he is interesting but not my kind of guitarist. Do see the movie "It's going to get louder" where you get to see him with The Edge and Jimmy Page. It's not bad, just someone on his own trip redoing the very early black music stuff. Not exactly original for my tastes, but OK. I'm getting tired of the LP bs thing, and pretty soon someone will say that a harpsichord made in 1616 that Shakespeare pissed on, sounds better than anything we have!

Hi, Shakespeare died in 1616, so it may have been the last thing he ever did.

Hahahaha ... I thought about saying 1615, but thought it would be funnier if he was dead so the musicos would not be able to hurt him! And Dudley Moore would not be able to satirize it!

Old55 The dual-groove thing was used on Monty Python's Matching Tie And Handkerchief back in 1973. ... I wonder how much that LP is worth these days!

Saw him this week end on ACL with two bands , one all male, the other all female. Sounded very 70s . Cant quite figure if he was autotuning or his voice is actually that Soprano.

Just a few quid on Amazon UK. There's a fully autographed version on Ebay for £150 though.
