Unable to Record using Condenser Mic

Hi all.. I'm a newbie, sorry I can't found any solution to my problem so I have to asking it myself. Hope anyone can help. Thx.

I am using Zoom R24 recording track as an audio interface for CW Pro audio9 & Sonar Home studio4. The Zoom R24 got 8 input where input 3-8 supported phantom power for Condenser Mic. I can record my guitar successfully from input 1 but failed to record using condenser mic from all input 3-8. I can hear the sound but failed to record. It's working fine in Cubase LE5 where I can choose to record from which input.

Thank you in advance.

first off welcome to the forim dude...second its hard to find people still using pro audio 9..its a dinosaur..butyour lucky cause i still have it right now loaded up and ready to go..first and foremost try checking your inputs..make sure there all set up and routed properly..this is 90 percent the problem usualy..if that isnt it..#2 go to  options/audio/advanced..click simultaniaus play back, record..thats what i got...good luck and enjoy..thats a great piece of software..you had that since it came out or just get it?

Thanks for the reply chuck. Well.. you've mentioned about set up & routed properly? Could you explain for more details? I've worked my @ss off to make it work but still failed :(. I wonder where I can choose the recording input for the track?. As for 'click simultaniaus play back' the option is already clicked but still failed to record.

Yeah PA9 is kind of dinosaur haha... but I don't care since it's the best of audio editing (for me at least). I use it just for audio recording as it's the easiest and the best tools to do wave cutting & editing. Then import them onto cubase or sonar track by track for mixing.
Well... the avatar looks scary.. should replace soonest possible

With all respect, Kakamal, IMO you're really making life hard for yourself with that workflow. You're wasting hours and hours of precious creative time.

I used to have Audio Pro 6, but I can' remember about the track inputs. Is there not an "I" for "Input" at the beginning of the track to choose the input? The input for the track is chosen exactly the same way as for your guitar.

Just guessing...I couldn't find the info on Zooms site..Could it be the phantom power is for inputs 1 and 2 instead of 3-8? But OTOH, you say you do hear the sound, it's just not recorded.

Could it be the Zoom is not in interface mode but operating as a workstation?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Hi Kalle... thanks for the respond. There's no 'I' symbol at the beginning of the track in CWPA9 as you mentioned. Normally I choose 'source' column  for input and "port' for output channel and it was working find with my M-Audio interface as the device only got 1 input channels. I can assign the input channel in other DAW something like:-

Left ASIO Zoom R24 Interface 1/2
Right ASIO Zoom R24 Interface 3/4
Stereo ASIO Zoom R24 Interface 5/6

But there is no input number to choose in CWPA9. Maybe the software was designed to use only 1 input... i don't know. Ya, I think you're right that I have wasting my time for these 'dino' stuff. It's time for me to do editing in other software. I've tried Cubase & Sonar by learning through the manual & youtube... and ya, to do wave editing is like to build a jumbo jet to me...  I can't even find how to cut the wave file out of the 'range BAR'.

Kakamal,  Go to menu Options>Audio... and then click the Drivers tab.  Do you see the inputs there?  If so, you then need to click each one to indicate that you want to use it.  Seeing them in the Drivers tab is not good enough -- they each have to be selected.
