Unable to Transfer .wav files into a Track

I found the instructions on how to transfer .wav files into Sonar X3 Producer, but have never been able to get these into a track.   I have been able to drag and drop .wav files into tracks with Studio One 2, Reaper, Cubase, Mixcraft 6, and Reason, but I cannot get these same files into a Sonar track.   I can audition these files within the preview window of X3, but even after precisely following the instructions within the Sonar knowledge base of how to import files into Sonar X3, it never works.   I have selected the right file type -.wav - and I have selected the right sample rate - 16 or 24, depending on the file - and I note that the files go into a Sonar audio file folder, but that's as far as I can get.   I can't get them into a track.   It's an immediate process with these other DAW's but not with Sonar.   I've spent hours trying.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

The files may be importing way to the right on the time line. Try unchecking "Always Import Broadcast Waves At their Timestamp" in Preferences > File > Audio Data

Next time consider posting in the X-Series forum. This forum is for older pre-X series versions of SONAR.

If you see a dotted line on the track after using "Import>Audio" it means the audio is imported but positioned on its timestamp location somewhere far right.

Thank you.   I didn't intentionally post in the wrong forum.   I saw the "Producer" heading and thought this was the proper forum.   I've noted my error.

Your suggestion worked!   I can even drag and drop these files now.   Thanks for your help.

Just remember that you may in the future WANT to have that box checked, so that when you are importing some collaborative tracks from a friend, or for whatever reason, you may WANT those imported audio clips to get positioned per the embedded time stamp information in the wav files.

So, it is just one of those parameters you want to ponder as you are getting ready to import audio into a project.  Sometimes position, sometime not - that kind of thing.

    Hope that helps,

Starting later today, there will be only one SONAR forum. These threads won't be lost, though, just merged into the X forum.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
