Undo/Redo History Upon Restart
I did a search on this and couldn't find the answer. Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I know it didn't used to but does Sonar 8.5.2 keep a running project undo/redo history that will be there even upon shut down and restart? Thanks. J

J I'm pretty sure once you close Sonar it loses the history.

J You can always do a "Save As" and make multiple versions with slightly different names, like Back in Black 1, Back in Black 2, Back in Black before vocal edits and so on....And always back up every session onto an external hard drive or any other driver, as long as its not your audio drive. This will keep your projects safe and let you sleep at night (or Day) Cj

There no reason why the undo history can't be saved with the file. I've asked for this feature for years. There's no excuse for this considering how cheap HD space is today. Who cares how big the CWP files are? There should be a check box option for those who want the history saved. Other programs allow saving the undo history, why not Sonar?

Thanks for the responses. I agree with being able to save the undo/redo hx. I'm working with another program at the moment which does allow it. Very, very handy. Yeah......pretty much night for me as I hit the sack around daybreak. J

Yeah......pretty much night for me as I hit the sack around daybreak. J Yeah, I think the only way Sonar will start saving undo history is for the other DAW programs to all have this feature. It's nice to know some of them do. Let's hope Cakewalk wises up before customers jump ship.

Three enhancements I would like in the next version... 1) Option to save undo history with projects. 2) An enhanced undo history dialogue. Let's say you deleted 5 tracks and wanted to undelete a particular track, if you go to Edit -> History you just see Delete 5 times, there is no indicator of what track was deleted. 3) Be able to selectively undo (without undo'ing other steps). Sonar X1 may already do this... if it does the History dialogue does nothing to indicate this. What we have at the moment is the bare minimum of functionality to get by.
