Uninstalling Cakewalk Sonar?
Is there a consensus yet whether it's prudent to go ahead and uninstall Cakewalk Sonar in favor of BandLab Cakewalk? And, are we still using Command Center? It was mentioned in the BandLab letter, but I'm wondering if it's something that needs to be redownloaded or updated.

I'd recommend keeping it.
The Sonar Platinum specific files are only around 330MB (200MB in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar Platinum - half of which is the help files, and 130MB in AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk)
The equivalent CbB (Cakewalk core) files only take up around 120MB.
Everything else is in common folders, which means both Sonar and CbB use them.
You don't want to be in the situation where uninstalling Sonar removes all the extra content along with it that CbB doesn't have.

The fact is if you were to only have CbB it would be more like having what came with Home Studio or Artist.
My last DAW set up had a 128 SSD and I had 8.5, X1LE, X3e, Pro and Plat. The software part takes up very little room.

Just to echo the above sentiments - remove previous versions at your peril!! And don't come back moaning when all your projects complain about missing plugins

Isn't the Command Centre defunct anyway? Ive just uninstalled that...
While this 'demo mode' issue is lurking I'll keep Splat but I guess when CbB is solid then I may consider removing SPlat. Surely all 3rd party pluigns purchased along the way in various iterations of Sonar will work in CbB?

Cant see the point in having CCC installed anymore...its not a case of saving disk-space..its a defunct app... Splat will remain for me for a long while...

Don't delete Cakewalk Sonar, unless you're that desperate to re-gain some HD space. Keep your old Sonar loaded on your computer just in case you have a secondary audio interface (and configure it to use that one instead of your main one). It'll make things easier for you, and you won't have to change your audio settings all the time.
If you only have one interface, you can use Cakewalk by Bandlab for recording (to have one set of audio buffer settings), and use the old Sonar for mixing (to have another set of audio buffer settings).

I have three DAWs (Four if you count the Fairlight tab in DaVinci Resolve), two notation programs and four video editors installed with no issues other that trying to figure out how to use it all and finding the time to do so.

I am a little confused here about Sonar Bandlab futures updates.
I use Sonar Platinum now from Cakewalk.
Do I need to install Bandlab Assitant in order to install futures updates if they come?
If I install Bandlab Assistant is it going to download automatically another Sonar version which now is from Bandcamp?

Development on SONAR stopped last year. There will be no more updates to that product. BandLab released a new DAW based on SONAR called Cakewalk by BandLab (CbB). It is a new product. When installed on a machine that already has SONAR on it, CbB installs as an upgrade (not an update). BandLab Assistant must be used to install, activate and update CbB. Its purpose is similar to the old Cakewalk Command Center except its use it not optional. BandLab is not Bandcamp. They are two different companies and have no relation to each other.

Deleting CCC: It's less than 10 MB and necessary to download your older content. I immediately noticed that CbB doesn't install the 30th Anniversary content, so I used CCC to download it along with expansion packs for Rapture, AD2, etc.
After you've downloaded everything that's available to you through the CCC (and backed up the files!), then I suppose you could delete it. But 10 MB is cheap insurance in case, for example, you accidentally delete a file of something you own and need to re-download it again. I assume the CCC will go away at some point, but at least download and back up all the files to which you're entitled before deleting it.

The other reason to keep CCC is some people have reported Splat going into Demo mode after a W10 update and running CCC solves the problem.
OK so not a problem if you are now going to be using CbC
Carlo. you use CCC to install Splat and all the extras that came with that Prior to November shut down.
You use the Bandlab Assistant to intall and update Cakewalk by Bandlab. Please take the time to read the stickies at the top of the page folks and these questions would not be asked over and over.

What about rebuilding my machine which desperately needs it right now?
I plan to just keep the last version of Cakewalk's SPLAT and all the plug ins I've invested in because it outclasses my skill set anyway, and I mostly use Propellerheads Reason anyway. Still, I've got a tidy sum wrapped up in SONAR and plug-ins and I do like it a lot as well.
Also, I have the following plug ins and any help/direction in how to migrate these to a new build would be appreciated:
