Unselecting tracks in console view

I want to export my project and so what I do is I go to console view and select all tracks (ctrl-A). I remember doing this several times but forgot somehow. After I select all the tracks, how do I unselect some tracks? I have tried holding down ctrl, shift and alt to no avail.

Thanks

Hold down the Ctrl key and click on the track number box.

No worries. Just to be clear though the click has to be on the track number box. Doesn't work by clicking anywhere else on the track.

I just tried it in Track View and Console View and it's working here.

Question ... anyone see a console view where the tracks are blank except for the volume sliders? Or is just a glitch on my system? It's default Screenset 4.

    Interesting.

I haven't seen what you're seeing Bub, but as I reported in a thread last week, I was having severe trouble with Screensets crashing my system. In hindsight, Screenset 4 was the one causing the most problems.

Hi, Sharp - I've always found it easier to make the export track selection in the Track View.  I've done it in TV exclusively for a long time, nary a problem.  Maybe you can just adapt your routine to make track selection easier and more fool-proof for yourself.

Am I the only one who finds it easier to export using console I could be wrong but, I find it was easier in CV because I don't want to export the muted tracks and so In TV I have to scroll up and down and unselect that way. It even gets harder to do this when you have a lot of tracks and some of them are in folders with unmuted tracks.  (especially when you have the folders minimized). In CV All I do is select all tracks and look at the Mute button if it is on then I unselect those tracks without having to got through the folders and in CV it shows more tracks and it makes it that much faster. Maybe I am missing something here :S

I'm puzzled - export doesn't export muted tracks unless you specifically set it up to do so. You don't need to unselect them.

Exactly. Why even bother to exclude muted tracks/busses. By definition, they won't & can't be included as part of your export.

They don't make the file size of your export bigger in anyway?
