Update Plan question

Hi fellow Users and Cakewalk.

My first 12 months with Sonar are nearly over and I will soon have to decide whether to stay on the upgrade plan or not.

One question I have ( and I am sorry if this already has been answered) is:

Say I cancel after month 3 of my new 12 months update plan and I will be reverted back to demo mode according to the information on the store:

How will I be able to then get back to the version I "own" after my initial 12 months (Lexington in my case). Or how will Sonar even know which version I am entitled to and which version I am not entitled ton any longer because of my cancellation?

I assume you are paying monthly, correct? If so, you'll be reverted back to SONAR Lexington, the last version you completed your 12 payments. If you did a 13th, and there was a new update, you would get reverted back to that update. As long as they're consecutive, you keep the last one you paid for at the time. We are also offering lower pricing on a one-time payment.

We will know and you can roll back in Command Center to the last version.

    Thanks :)

    One question left:

If i do not pay now for an entire year and then pick up the subscription model again: Will I have to pay just the normal monthly upgrade rate or for any updates I missed in those last 12 months as well?

Yes, you'd pay the normal monthly upgrade rate. You would have to complete 12 more payments to own the product just like now. I'll future proof my answer a bit more. There is absolutely no plan to change normal monthly pricing at this point and in fact we lowered the Platinum renewal pricing but price is always subject to change.

    Hi Andrew.

My membership runs until 24th January.

Will I be prompted before this date to renew my membership automatically or do I have to do it manually?

    Thanks

Say I cancel after month 3 of my new 12 months update plan and I will be reverted back to demo mode according to the information on the store:

Just in case Andrew's post up above (and he's the reference) isn't quite clear, if you cancel 3 months after your first 12 have been completed (with no breaks in between) you get to keep the version as it exists at 15 months.  As long as you keep paying, you get to keep the lastest version.  However, once you skip a month, you have to do another consecutive 12 months before you can keep anything new again and the process repeats.

The more I learn about this the more I realize that this subscription model beats Avids by far!!

    Thank you Cakewalk.
