Update confusion

So does April's 2016.03 update count as the unnamed scheduled March "O" update? Normally these updates have an official name and occur during sequential months. Why no "Oxenberg" or "Ovaltineton" etc? Pardon if this has been answered. Also, will we get a named April update in April? Thanks.

Named updates have been discontinued in favor of a Year.Month designation.

O.K. thanks, that helps. I figured a formal announcement would have been included in the update description, "from here out, we're abandoning the named format and switching to a year/month format for each future update."

My guess is the change in naming convention is not that big a deal. Every official announcement about the release refers to it as 2013.03. So does the Command Center. There was this post, http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3394131

Ah, I knew it had to have been in a thread somewhere. When you have one naming/update protocol in place for many months and then suddenly change it without mentioning the change officially, there's bound to be some confusion for some and me especially.

It would be nice to get email about these things. I'm sure I signed up for email notices at least twice, but so far I've only ever gotten email after contacting support.

I too have signed up to receive email notifications and news to no avail.  I never get any emails from Cakewalk.  Seems to me that all registered customers should be on the email list.  Many others have complained about this over the years.

Hijacking this thread probably will not help. Contacting Cakewalk directly might.
