Update the how to videos plz
I wish someone would update the how to videos on youtube, because most of them are 6 years old...:-) The manual is not very well written when "how to" and i again and again have to look at too old videos and try. For example im trying to work out how to record only an vsteffect on an instrument to audiotrack, only the vsteffect https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Mixing.14.htmlI read the text, and then theres a picture under it...??? How about following the numbers "1.2.3" so the 1.2.3 follow the pictures And the search funktion is terrible - too many list shows up, confusing dont get me wrong, i really like sonar :-)

I feel your pain. The problem in using a straightforward 1, 2, 3 etc numbering on pictures and text often (not always) is, that you can do so many different things using the function in question. In such cases it can be clearer to just describe the functions related to the screen print, and let the user find out, which is the one that suits his purposes. (Hmm. I'm not sure I expressed myself clearly :o/ ) PS. I have no idea what you mean by "recording only the VST effect". The effect itself does not have a sound, if the audio of the track is not run through it. So what are you recording, if you're recording only the VST? Do you mean soft synths? Bounce to track or Freeze are the functions used to transfer MIDI/soft synths or audio (with FX) to simple audio track. If that's not what you're looking for, I have no idea.

Hi. Use a bus for your fx, and then export that bus, and import the wave file. I'm not sure if Professional has AUX track. But if it does, insert your fx there, and create a send from your track to the AUX track. Record/Freeze that track, and you have the fx only. All the best.

It is up to us to make new videos. I've been contemplating that for awhile. They are not easy to do. Those that have done them in the past...I salute ye.

Hi Zargg Thank you for the help, i been trying to work it out, but no luck so far... I cant import the wave to the track, because the wave is in my Uvi Falcon sampler on notes, and its a miditrack ? pro does have auxtrack, and i did put the vstfx on it and there was the audiofx as expected ? by writing "only the vstfx": was only the soundeffect, and not the org. sound itself sorry my english

I may have misunderstood what you meant. I thought you only wanted the fx, and not the track itself. If that is so: Use an AUX track with only the fx you want, and route the track (with a send) you want fx on, and freeze that track. You should now have only the fx. If you however want to have / hear the fx included with the track, you can just insert the fx in the tracks fx bin. Both will have the same result in the end.
