Updated Guitar Rig, now I have no VST's....

I just updated Guitar Rig through the NI service center, it installed automatically. Certainly didn't uncheck any boxes for VST versions anyway. The upshot is that now I don't have Guitar Rig VST's anywhere. I checked the install log and it looks like it only installed the standalone, the RTAS and AAX versions. Does anyone know how I can ultimately put this right short of completely uninstalling it and starting again?

You've looked for it as an audio effect? Sometimes people forget and look for it as a soft synth.

No, I've looked in my VST folders where they should be. There are no Guitar Rig .dll's.

Do are uninstall and reinstall...making sure thing is checked properly...
I know it's a pain...but we do what we must.

Also, check the program folders....a lot of times these things will default to a Steinberg directory if you don't
    tell them Cakewalk\VSTplugins when installing.

Have you tried to install it again only as a VST?
    Maybe that will work.

Have you done a windows search for the .dll to see if it has been put elsewhere in its own folder? In the old days it was unless you pointed it elsewhere.

According to the install log it just plain missed out the VST's. Looks like a full uninstall/reinstall is in order.

sharke - bummer you've encountered that.  Thanks much for posting what happened to you.  I was just about to update Guitar Rig myself, so now I'll pause for a bit on that.  I'll look forward to reading your resolution.  Sorry you had to be the one that experienced it.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Well happily enough, after a reinstall and doing the update again it seems to be working. It was a bit of a pain because I had to fish my Komplete Ultimate hard drive out of the cupboard. I had my VST folder open during the update and watched the .dll disappear as it happened, but this time the update replaced it. So I don't know what happened the first time.
