Upgrade Question.

Hi all,
I am currently using x1 on a vista machine. I'm looking to upgrade to x3, I'm not sure about the download I'd like to purchase physical disc(s), Anyway, I'll obviously be getting a new machine with windows 8, I was wondering how the download works as I can't buy sonar x3 in Ireland. Any advice on upgrading to x3 from x1 would be hugely appreciated, I've e-mailed sales but got no reply. Cheers guys

The download and the DVDs are the full version of X3. BTW, it will run on Vista. The approximate file sizes are listed in a link at the bottom of this page. It would not be necessary to download DimPro again because it has not changed since X1. Regardless of whether installed by download or DVD, it will be necessary to download the X3d update and any future updates as well. Addictive Drums is only available as a download directly from XLN Audio, it does not come on disk.

Cakewalk's European fulfilment centre is in Ireland so I'm surprised you can't buy Sonar there. That's where your DVDs will come from.

I've just done the upgrade after having had the disks sent from the States to Johannesburg via DHL. It costs a bit extra for the courier but an amazing two days is all it took! And scook's mention of the other points are all a great heads up for you.

Thanks for the replies guys, Thats strange that the european fullfilment center is in Ireland, I've tried everywhere over here but can't get x3. I thought that x3 wasn't supported on vista?, I think I want to upgrade my pc aswell tho. Looks like I'm gonna go ahead with it, I've an album project to finish then I'm gonna go for it.
    Cheers guys.

X3 is not supported on Vista however Vista is very similar to Win7. So much so that X3 does run on it. There is even a patch to the VST scanner in X3c to fix a problem it had running on Vista. Not trying to argue against an OS upgrade though.
