Upgrade or New Purchase

Hi All,

I've been using Cakewalk and Sonar for some time now.  After running Sonar Studio since version 1, I recently upgraded to 8.5 PE and finally got it to run good on my computer.  I'm thinking of either upgrading my computer or buying a new one and wanted some opinions.

I currently have a Compaq Presario with an AMD Athlon Dual Core running XP Pro SP3, 2 Gig Ram, 200 Gig internal and 200 Gig external.  For sound, I'm using a Lexicon Omega v2, and the new drivers that just came out actually work good.  I'm using the default Nvidia video into a 24" Samsung monitor.

If I upgrade, I would look at mostly computer hardware - 4 Gig RAM, 500 Gig internal, 1TB external and upgrade video to allow multiple monitors.  Since the Lexicon is working fine now, I think I'll stay with that for a while.  What I need to also know is whether I should stay with XP or upgrade to Win7?  Is Win7 stable with Sonar now?
