Upgraded from SHS7 to X1 Studio. Problems with existing projects... plug inss

Hey I need a little help. I upgraded from SHS7 to X1 Essential and then to X1 Studion and I'm having major issues with projects createdc in SHS&- When I open a project I get a message that states. " The following plug ins are referred to by this project, but could not be found. They may be missing or improperly installed on your system. The original Plug in state is saved by the stand in plug ins, and willb e restored if you save the project and subsequently load it on a systemwhere the plug ins are properlly installed. Warning: If you load this file in Safe Mode, overwriting this file will result in the peranent loss of these effects." Then it lists the effects. Cakewalk PowerStrip(track:Vocal) Cakewalk Studioverb2(track:Guitar) I thought upgrading via the website would be mostly seemless. Now I also have clipping on almost all tracks. Sound is terrible. Help if you can.

Make sure you installed all the plugins with X1. If not, reinstall them.

Make sure the folder paths are the same for X1 as SHS7.

Make sure X1 is 32 bit. If it's 64 bit the plugins you listed will not work.

Make sure your Preferences/Audio/Driver Settings are configured properly for your audio interface.

I installed X1 in 64bit. Is there any way to change it to 32?

Just install the 32 bit verson also. It will be put under Program FIles (x86). You can have both on the same computer. I do just for this reason.

And this won't effect my current projects? I can open them in either 64bit or 32bit?

You have to run the X1 installation programs again.  The option to install 32 oe 64 bit is on one of the early screens.

Got it. Since I purchase the on-line version and did not get the CD, I'm assuming that I can go to the cakewalk website and re-install or just install again from the files that I downloaded? Sorry for all the questions, but although I am pretty computer literate, I don't want to take a chance messing up my recordings. Took me a while.

Yes. Just re-run the installation file that you already have and select 32 bit. It will do the rest. Be sure to select all the plugins for this one too.

ALSO - You may need to reset the Audio settings for your interface in the 32 bit version as it sometimes handles things differently than 64 bit.

just remember,by installing the 32 bit version sonar will only use 4 out of the 6 gigs of ram you have,
you would benifit from a 64 bit installation and the plug ins are much better.
you might want to install home studio 7 and sonar x1 64,finish up your projects and then start fresh on sonar x1 64 bit.

you know,i can see this is probably very confusing so forget it,just keep in mind in the future, try to eventually go to 64 bit,it handles things alot better.

I still have SHS 7 installed, but I am doing my recording and editing of the projects that I previously created in SHS7 on X1. I closed and reopened the projects and the sound is now as it was before, except some of the plug ins are not available. I guess this is not a real problem since most of the plug ins that are not available (there are not too many) are mostly reverb and echo and stuff. I can just re-add the effect in X1. My issue was that when I first opened these projects there was a lot of clipping and hum. This appears to be gone once I closed and re-started the program. Very strange. I guess I can work around the minor bugs.
    Thanx
