Upgrading Music Creator?

Is there a cheap upgrade available to upgrade MC4 to 5 or am I stuck shelling out $50 to Best Buy locally to get MC5 for my computer?

there's no upgrade available for MC.  since it's a low priced software they don't have upgrade from earlier versions.  they do have a download version available for $35 IIRC, but it has fewer things than the boxed version does including fewer sounds in the cakewalk soundcenter.

Is there something MC 5 has that 4 doesn't that you want? They are essentially the same, but MC 5 has a new software synthesizer called Sound Center, and Studio Instruments Drums.
Oh, and that guitar amp sim, Amplitube.

The only reason to consider buying MC5 is for the sound center.

Since that is the goal.... you would want to buy the boxed version from a store near you.... it should be available for $40.

I actually have both and rarely open 5...... only to look at something to answer a question for someone here in the forums. I continue to love and use MC4.

yes, that's the marketing hype on the box.  someone in marketing and advertising wrote that, not a user or a tech support person or a designer of the software.  it's always more difficult than marketing would lead you to believe.
