Urgent please help have to record and it just crapped out on me

Hey. So when I try to record, it is recording all the other tracks too. I tried to go to input monitoring and the sound card mixer board. I fixed this once when I first set up and I totally forget how to do it. I have to record tomorrow if I miss it I'm screwed. Please help. Isn't there something else I am supposed to do. Also I am getting incredible feedback that gets lounder and louder. It was ok. but when I took my tower traveling with me, this happened. Please Help

    If you have already checked the two things tht cause this, then I am at a loss as to what to tell you. I never no what to tell folks who come here and say " I have checked all the possible things that could cause this what else is there?"

    if I go to options/ input monitiring / then it shows my input right. do I unhighlinght that? I thought there was one other thing to try. Shoot I wish they posted old discussions I got the answer back in July.

    How do I get to "what u hear" the sound card?

    Yes make sure that nothing is highlighted in input monitoring

    it depends on the sound card, for most you need to click on the speaker icon in the system tray of the computer (right hand corner of the screen) and lok for a feature that lets it record the inputs as well as the playback device
