Useful fact: mice don't work well on hot desks

Just putting it out there. I ironed something on my desk because I was too lazy to get the ironing board out of the closet, and when I went to use my mouse on the still-hot desk, it wouldn't work properly. Just thought I'd put that out there in case it's useful to someone in the future.

You have enough empty desk space to iron something?

I just swish it all out of the way with a broad sweep of the arm. Kind of like how they clear desks to have sex in TV shows, only with ironing instead of sex.

Are you using an infrared mouse? That might explain your issue as the background heat coming from the surface could act as noise drowning out the signal.

Note that my mice, although sensing in the visible spectrum,  stopped working completely after heat exposure:

Yep I think it's infrared. It's one of those Logitech jobs with the little USB dongle.

You have an iron?
And you actually use it?

Sharke is one of those modern, sensitive men. I believe the term is pre-trumpian.

No kidding!

But he's not married, so the second letter of wife (i for ironing, right after w for washing) doesn't mean anything to him.

Believe me, I'm not an ironer. Hence the ironing board being lodged into the deepest recesses of my closet, and why I ended up having to clear the desk. Only reason I ironed something was that I had to do a photo shoot for my upcoming new business website and I needed an employee to wear a company T-shirt for it. Figured I might as well make the effort and iron the thing first. However I didn't count on the employee showing up unshaven in the scruffiest looking jeans imaginable

I'll have to check with the NY Dept. of Labor first.
