Using 2 - MOTU 2408's with Tascam DM3200 with Sonar?

Is anyone succesfully using 2 - 2408's with a Tascam DM3200 with
one 2408 doing I/O through the built in TDIF's and the second 2408 using
the onboard ADAT's and 2 ADAT expansion cards? If so, how
are you doing the clocking of the system?

I have been trying to get this to work for a couple of weeks with
disappointing results. It is a long story of trials and errors I will
not bore you with here, but the problem comes in when trying to connect
to the ADAT cards - although they 'check out' with all available tests..
problems seem to come from clocking issues. Tried the 'invert' options,
and various clock master schemes.....get either white noise, or heavy
distortion....or a -22dbFS DC signal to the non-ADAT channels....

Currently run a 2408 MKIII into TDIF with a Lucid Gen6X as
master clock BNC'd to both 2408 and Dm3200....424 card into PC running
Sonar and SoundForge (mostly). Everything works great. Second
2408 (original) works great in the system when only plugged into the onboard ADAT....things go to ^$&%* when plugged into the ADAT cards.
Same result if mixing the I/O's from the 2408 MKIII (TDIF and ADAT)...
Want to get a second MKII or MKIII to get back to 24 bits, but until I
can figure out a clocking scheme that works.....

Tried MOTU and TASCAM technical support with no response. Also the
TascamForums....no working scheme has been offered.

Thanks in advance...
