Using ACT with Z3TA+2 to move to next program bank

Can't figure out how to program my Cakewalk A-Pro 100 to move Zeta to the next program or bank.  I enable ACT in controller properties and then click the ACT button in Zeta and hit pad 1 on my A-Pro and I make sure pads are set to act as buttons.  I then click ACT in Zeta again but I don't get the message that I have changed anything and it doesn't move program when I hit the pad.    Does anyone know of a way to move from bank to bank using a synth\controller?  Would be really nice to be able to change programs while playing my synth.  Would also be nice to have a bank with only the programs I want and be able to scroll through them while playing the synth.  Maybe ACT is not the right approach and there is another way to change programs while playing (and i'm too dense or lazy to find it ) ?  Thanks!

    Correction - It's an A 300 Pro Cakewalk\Roland keyboard and controller.
