Using Cakewalk Sound Center with mulitple tracks and multiple programs

Hello forum, my name is Bart and I just signed up for my first question for Music Creator 6.
I use Win7 and a Roland GW7 workstation as an external midi input keyboard.

Due to the fact that I only can add 8 (max) virtual instruments I like to know if I do something wrong:

If I use the TTS-1 instrument, then I can add/insert one TTS-1 instrument and use 16 tracks, with 16 different programs (sounds) within that one instrument by inserting new tracks and assign them to (16) different channels. I choose the channels for each track using my external keyboard.

I like to do the same when using the CSC virtual synth. But it looks that when I want to use a different program on a new track I have to insert a new CSC synt. Since I only can add maximum 8 virtuele synths, that is a problem for me.

Do I something wrong or is it correct to insert a new CSC synth when I want to use a different program?

KInd regards and thanks in advance for your answers/tips.

Unlike TTS-1, CSC is not multi-timbral. IOW, CSC requires a new instance for each MIDI track. The only way to get around the virtual instrument limit imposed by MC6 is to bounce the tracks and remove the synths or upgrade to SONAR which does not impose limits.

Thanks Scook, I thought I missed some knowledge about CSC, but in the end it's indeed the limitation of MC6.
I will have look at SONAR.

You can bounce the synths to audio tracks and then reuse that synth. Simply move the midi track to the bottom and label it accordingly so if you ever need to make changes to that track you can reassemble it and reinstall the correct synth.
