Using Fruity loops within sonar.

Fruity loops seems to play nicely with sonar (8.5.3). Sort of. I'm using it as a VSTi. However, it takes over the whole window. I have a two monitor setup but I can't move it around. I read somewhere to go to options/general and check "don't limit windows to screen", which I did, but that makes no difference. Anyone struggled with this before? Anyone tried this using rewire instead? Is that approach better or worse? I can't seem to get rewire to work, although I have it installed. Do you have to "run" it each time before you open sonar? If so, where do you find it? (I'm having the same problem with Sibelius, has anyone rewired that to sonar? Thanks folks, as always.

    Hi Geoffrey-

It sounds like your FL window is maximized. I run it as a VSTi on my 2nd monitor with no problems. I prefer that to Rewire, since the .flp gets saved automatically with the SONAR project.

Try unmaximizing the FL window -- you should then be able to move it around freely.

Regarding your question about not being able to get rewire to work - are you running the 64 bit version of SONAR, perchance?

Yes I am. (and 64 bit win7) I take rewire is not 64 bit compatible?

RE maximizing. How do I unmaximize? The little maximize/restore button seems to do nothing.

Click it so it shows 1 window in the icon button instead of 2, then click where it says "FL STUDIO" or on your name and you should be able to drag the window wherever you want it.

Right you were....thanks! I take it both rewire and the coupled apps must all be 64 bit for rewire to work? (don't know nothin' about it).
