Using JP-8080 as a vocoder

Please briefly (in layman's terms) tell me how it's done.

I have RTFM.......but need a simpler explanation...

I have a SONAR MIDI track triggering the JP for the carrier and I vox into the mic - what else do I need to do/think about?
