Using Jammer Pro plugin with Sonar X1

I use an arranging program called Jammer Pro, similar to Biab.  It has a separate plugin program which can be opened in Sonar so that both programs can run at the same time, and changes made in Jammer Pro will be reflected in the song in Sonar.
 
But the problem is that Sonar will not play any sounds when Jammer is open.  I am wondering if this is because I am using ASIO, and if I might remedy the problem by using WDM instead.  I have checked the option in Sonar that supposedly allows another program to coexist, but that is no help.
 
I am using Windows XP, with Intel i5, 3.5GB Ram.
 
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?  Thanks.
