Using M Audio Fast Track Ultra Interface, need advice

Hey all, weird issue I never dealt with in Pro Tools but having it in Sonar X3. When I record guitar tracks I enable my input read from Left Mono Input one from my interface. After I record and find the FX I want, whenever I pan to the opposite I lose the FX and hear my raw guitar track. Do I need to disable something or record a stereo track?

Make sure your track interleave is set to mono and you're sure you're recording only one channel (not a stereo pair).

Thanks for that. I am brand new to Sonar. Where would I find that setting at?

That was very helpful, thanks. So after it's set to mono I should be able to pan a recorded mono guitar track either direction without hearing the raw track underneath the FX? I use M Audio Fast Track Ultra, when I select my Input I have three options for each input (MAudio Left, Right, Stereo), does it matter which I choose?

The input is a dual input. It is an XLR/Quater inc. Obviously I use quarter inch
